Orange Cafe
The Orange Cafe, established since last July, features a mix of local and Western cuisines. To highlight its ‘local & western fusion cuisine’ characteristic, the "taoke (proprietor)" added in a variety of local Chinese dishes including "Ka Cha Ma(herbs chicken)", "Gan Pua Mee(Fu Chao Noodle)", Assam Curry Chicken Claypot, "Hen Hua Mee", appetizer "Rojak(mixed local fruits and vegetables)" and others in the menu.
We tried their specialties :Chicken Chop (the taoke recommend we tried it. It’s alright, but I think it’d taste better if they sprinkle less herbs on the fried chicken chop), Nasi Lemak Special(the curry chicken’s tender and tasty), Lamb Stew, Beef Goulash and Baked New Zealand Mussel.
I didn’t try the Lamb and the Beef, but my friends said they’re okay, especially the lamb — it’s so soft that it melts in your mouth without having bother to chew it. The Beef was supposed to be steamed for at least 3 hrs (according to the chef de cuisine) but guessed that we arrived too early that day as the result was not what we they had expected. But, I didn’t try it as I don’t take beef.
My fave or should said our favourite is the New Zealand Mussel. Half doze of freshly baked mussel, covered by a thick layer of mozzarella cheese, it melts our heart away by the lovely sight of it and not to mention that it smells like heaven!!! As for the taste, its beyond description.
