Dumping your pet?
November 10, 2006 by jernehhong
For many years now, I’ve totally forgotten the existence of the Sarawak Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals(SSPCA) until I received a call asking me how he/she can give up their "unwanted" pet there.
I know it is cruel and sad but "dumping" new born animal cases happened in many places and almost everyday! "I’ve no time to keep them, to feed them, to bath them, nor I have the extra money to raise them" were among those many lame excuses given by many irresponsible owners when they gave up their pets.
If you think this is bad, it is not, there’re worse cases in which the owners tight up both hands and legs of the dog and threw it into river!! I am not kidding but this is a true case witnessed by a friend. What else? Some owners decided not to keep their pets because the pet is aging or is infected with heart-worms, etc.
I wonder what would happen to them when they grow old and become sick one day, will their children do the same to them in return?
No doubt, everyone grows old and so is our pet! However, if we shower them with care and love, aging and sickness is not a problem. As true love and care will lead you towards patient and understanding!
