Miniature Kebayas
November 11, 2006 by jernehhong
Kebaya, a mixture of traditional Malay and Chinese clothing, was very popular among Chinese ladies back in the 1960s but it’s definately not the teenagers’ cup of tea.
However, to preserve and promote this special local
culture heritage, Jane Chua created 50 miniatures kebayas and exhibited them in the Boonia Gallery at 73, Jalan Padungan(opposite Padungan Everrise Store).
These miniature kebayas came with different themes and all of them are of the size of a ‘plam’. Interested can visit the gallery from 11-18 November during working hours.
