Last Sunday I didn’t take off work, as I received an assignment to cover a Malay Wedding in the morning, then I dropped by the "manicure show" at Crown Square, which is just a stone’s throw away from my office.
Left Pix : Amy (McPhee Nail Studio Manicurist, dressed in black long-sleeve shirt & jeans) presenting ‘gift set’ to the event’s representative.
However, I was quite taken back by the sight of expose dress that hangs on their sexy body. Ok fine, I don’t mean to be very conservative and they are meant to be a ‘model’ in the near future after all and they might as well show off their body shape (I admit that some of them are pretty and all of them have slim & nice body figure), but somehow *no offend* with their low V cut collars and body-tight + super short dress, compliment with their ‘lower their body pose’, all together made I feel FUNNY. Well, some men might find their pose fascinating =D

A male friend just came around to say hi, and I am delighted to see some changes in what he is wearing today. Without giving it a thought, I praised his good taste in clothing– especially its striking black long-sleeve shirt and trouser to be complimented with a red tie.
Guess what!? He blushed and then he quickly left the room after reacted with a few "Ha! Ha!" and shy smiles.
>_< is this an Asian culture or it is a world wide thing for majority of men to feel rather ’shy’ when people or the opposite sex praise them for their good taste in clothing?

I received a sms from friend in KL few days ago, asking me to help her to buy tickets for the up-coming biggest event in Sarawak throughout the year — Rainforest World Music Festival (RWMF) 2007.
(pix left) Hotel Palindrone performing in RWMF 2006.
I gave her a web site address where she can purchase RWMF tickets directly via online, but she said it didn’t work. http://www.rainforestmusic-borneo.com
So there is only one way to secure tickets — go to the Visitor’s Information Centre in Kuching, Sibu or Miri. Tickets for adult 1-day pass is priced at RM80; 3-day pass: RM200. Children’s tickets (age 3 - 12): 1-day pass RM40; 3-day pass RM100.
Artist who will perform at the 10th Anniversary including: Huun Huur Tu/Malerija (Tuva & Russia), Tarika Be (Madagascar), Khac Chi (Vietname), Shannon (Poland), Doghouse Skiffle Group (UK), Tammorra (Italy), Kelabit Bamboo Band (Sarawak) and others.
Up to now, I had already received several phone calls and emails from some of the volunteers asking if I would be joining them again this year. My answer is "yes!"

Last year, I signed up as a volunteer and I was assigned to work in the Media Centre. This year, I’m hoping that I would be short-listed as a volunteer again. I’m now feeling ‘balik kampung’ kind of feeling, eager to meet old friends and make new friends this year!

Tempayan Restaurant is located on the 3rd floor of Crown Towers (next to Crown Square) at Jalan Pending, Kuching.
(pix above)The Lamb Shank, is not new to regular patrons there but it’s worth a try again
In fact, this is the restaurant where my boss and his families usually have their lunch — whenever he is working in Kuching. Therefore, it’s considered as an official cafeteria for the staff as well. That’s why nobody never bothers about the ambiance and decoration of the restaurant which made one felt bored after sampled their food once or twice.
Alas! Thanks to their new manager Adeline Lau who is convinced that the restaurant –armed with 4 chefs, is capable of offering good taste and good for money value cuisines! "A fresh and cozy atmosphere is also important to create a pleasing dinning experience to patrons," she added.
Apart from its new look, the restaurant also offers a set of new menu which updates every 3-4 months. My colleagues and I found it hard to resist trying their new dishes such as Roasted Honey Chicken, Rustika Pizza, Cashew-nuts Chix, Lemon Grass Chicken just to name a few.
(Above Pix) TEMPTING…Rustika Pizza goes well with its aromatic olive dressing mixed with diced tomatoes!
According to their Head Chef Mr. Mosini Hamis, their current best sellers are Roasted Honey Chicken, Rustika Pizza and the ever-so-popular "Kampung Fried Rice".
One more bonus! They started baking fresh from the oven chicken pies(left pix), curry puffs, chicken siu pao, mini pizzas and chicken wings everyday which only lasted for 2 hours whenever they’re taken out from the kitchen.
Business hours: 11:30am - 2:30pm; 6pm-10pm (off on Sunday & Public Holidays)

Oh yeah! I have nearly forgotten the reason why I had been extremely busy in the past few weeks had something to do with a Kebaya Exhibition held by the Yayasan Budi Penyayang, Sarawak Museum and Society Atelier Sarawak at the Sarawak Textile Museum in Kuching.
The late Y.A. Bhg. Datin Seri Endon’s kebaya collections were among the 60 exquisite vintage Kebayas on display at the "Kebaya Exhibition". If you missed it, don’t worry you still can take a look at them in Melburn’s Art Gallery if you happen to visit there before the end of this September.
Here,
in conjunction with this kebaya exhibition, a Kebaya Fashion Show was held at the Sarawak Golf Club too last March 24. Please feel free to view some photos taken by me at: http://uk.pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/jernehhong/album?.dir=6185scd

Wow! I didn’t realise how fast time had gone until my last entry reminded me when I said "I am back" that was already a month ago then disappeared again…>_< I know it’s a shame and well there is no use to cry over spilt milk so i’m back with some updates at least
Let me recall, what I had done in the past month….Jaq (a friend from KL) came visited twice, so I was busy "lepak" (malay word means something like wandering around) with her in town and somewhere a bit outskirts. Among those places we had ‘wandered’, I liked Permai Rainforest Resort (PRR) the best!
So far I had been to PRR several times, but I never had the chance to stay overnight on a tree house! That was because, I usually went with a group of friends and so we had to stay in one of the cabins.
(Tree House costs RM198/night for 2 persons)
But this time, we experienced a totally different sensation of waking to the gentle splashing sound of waves and birds singing. Some more! The moment when you opened your eyes, they were greeted by lush green rainforest in the surroundings!
(Because of these wonderful experiences, I forgave the manager who was late for our appointment a day before. )
Thouse whou would like to know more about PRR can visit www.permairainforest.com

Hello everybody!! Sorry that I had been away for ages, well, that’s just how long I’ve been working without a break >_<~~~
Before the Chinese New Year (CNY) my car was hit by a small lorry and I was busy looking for a car-shop to help me to do some repair jobs in the very last minutes. Thanks god!! My dad’s friend introduced me to his friend, and I managed to have my car fixed in time for the CNY.
As for the CNY, it’s more tiring than working but it’s fun, got to meet many friends and of course pampered myself with countless CNY cookies, cakes and goodies. The photo on top was a little creation of mine on the CNY eve.
All fun ended after my short CNY break, I got endless works and appointments await for me back in the office. >_<~~I’ve been working for 18 days none-stop now, there’s no way for me to continue working on my day-off this coming Sunday!

Chinese New Year is only a week from now!!! Hurray!!!! Well, I’m not that excited in getting any "ang pow" (red pocket) but rather looking forward to gather with friends and family.
Of course, I wouldn’t be able to call on everyone and every house, and my house don’t have open house so ……I apologize in advance if I don’t get to visit your house ^_^ and if you can’t find me in at home.
Nevertheless, I’m wishing you all the best and have a joyful Chinese New Year!!!
These photos were taken few years ago when I last visited YunNang.

Those who read another entry regarding our neighbour’s dog "Xiao Hua" probably remembered that our she preferred to come to our house to give birth to her puppies.
As we were still indulged in the mood of celebrating "Xiao Hua" given birth to 5 new born puppies last Friday, my brother called me an hour ago to inform me that she was hit by a car and dead on the spot!
It is really unbelievable!! She was so lively few hours ago before I left for work this morning……
Now the most important question is, what are we going to do with those puppies since the owner can’t be bothered about their dog? Or maybe I could be wrong, they do care about their dog but they just have no idea of how to take care of their pet.
I called SSPCA’s angel for help, and my brother will be sending those puppies there later, let’s pray that those puppies will be taken good care of!
